RheoFalt HP-AM
Organic Rejuvenator
In 2007 Ventraco was approached by asphalt producers to develop the highest recycle rate possible (100%). An asphalt producer teamed up with an additive producer, and this resulted in a unique approach to rejuvenate aged bitumen. In 2008 the first big production trial was made on a heavy loaded industrial road in Breda. To this date this industrial road is preforming better than any standard formulation. At the same time this asphalt was designed according to the latest European standard where dynamic testing formed the basis for the mix-design in combination with the desired bitumen properties. This approach is copied by many of our colleagues but never equaled.
RheoFalt HP-AM is the only rejuvenator which is repleting the lost maltenes due to the aging of the bitumen. Finding bio based raw materials was one of the focal points during the development of this rejuvenator. Resulting in the first organic rejuvenator world-wide.
RheoFalt HP-AM:
- 100% natural resin based
- 100% renewable
- Directly Polymerized (patented)
- Solvent free
- Flux-oil free
- Vegetable oil free (plasticizer free)
Improving Bitumen
As a result of a visit to the bitumen refinery and discussing the future vision of bitumen quality and the certainty of its supply, the following memo was formulated to describe the possibilities for improving bitumen by adding RheoFalt HP-AM. The use of a high percentage of recycled asphalt is becoming more common. The technologies are more advanced, the regulations less strict, and the demand for sustainable products continues to increase.

Sustainability
RheoFalt HP-AM is a completely natural product made from the oil of cashew nutshells and processed from raw CNSL into an aromatic resin with a molecular weight that fits in the maltene fraction of bitumen. No residue remains after this process. RheoFalt HP-AM is listed as a permitted building material on the Dutch Approved Materials for Asphalt Applications (NCOB) list for hot mixes. (based on BRL 9320, environmental effect norms).
